Privacy Policy for RWeather
Last updated: September 16, 2026
This Privacy Policy describes how RWeather ("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use our mobile application RWeather for Android and Wear OS (the "App").
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Location Data. To show the weather for where you are, the App may request access to your device location. If you allow it, the App may also access your location in the background to keep the weather up to date. Instead of using your current location, you can pick a location manually on the map. The location coordinates are used only to request weather data (see 1.2) and are stored only on your device. We do not collect or store your location on our servers.
1.2 Weather Data Requests. Weather data is provided by OpenWeather. To get the weather, the App sends the coordinates of the selected location and the App language to OpenWeather. These are standard HTTPS requests: OpenWeather may log technical request data such as your IP address. No other information about you is included in these requests.
1.3 Map. Picking a location manually uses Google Maps. The map is loaded from Google and is subject to Google's Privacy Policy.
1.4 Settings. Your settings (location mode and the selected location, units, time format, language and similar preferences) and the downloaded weather are stored locally on your device.
1.5 Advertising Data. We use third-party advertising services (Appodeal and its mediation partners) to display ads within the App. These services may collect and use certain data, including your device advertising identifier, IP address, device type, operating system, and general location data to serve personalized or non-personalized ads. For more information, please refer to Appodeal's Privacy Policy.
1.6 Analytics Data. We use Firebase Analytics to collect anonymous usage data (such as screen views, feature usage frequency, and session duration) and Firebase Crashlytics to collect crash reports and performance data. This data is anonymized, does not personally identify you, and is used solely to improve the App's functionality, stability, and user experience.
1.7 Notifications. The App may request permission to show notifications, which are used only to indicate that the weather is being refreshed. You can turn them off in the App settings.
2. Wear OS App
The RWeather Wear OS app can work on its own: it may access the watch location and request weather data from OpenWeather in the same way as the phone app. If the phone app is installed, your settings (including the selected location) and the downloaded weather are synced between your own phone and watch through Google Play services on your devices; this data is not routed through our servers.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the collected information for the following purposes: to provide and maintain the App functionality, including showing the weather for the selected location; to display advertisements; to analyze and fix crashes and bugs; to improve the App and user experience.
4. Data Storage and Security
Your settings and location are stored locally on your device. We do not have access to this data and do not transmit it to our servers. We implement reasonable security measures to protect your information, but no method of electronic storage or transmission over the internet is 100% secure.
5. Third-Party Services
The App uses the following third-party services that may collect information:

- Google Maps (location picker) — policies.google.com/privacy
- Appodeal (advertising) — appodeal.com/privacy-policy
- Firebase Analytics (usage analytics) — firebase.google.com/support/privacy
- Firebase Crashlytics (crash reporting) — firebase.google.com/support/privacy

6. Children's Privacy
The App is not intended for use by children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected information from a child under 13, please contact us so we can delete such information.
7. Your Rights
You can delete all your data at any time by uninstalling the App or clearing the App data in your device settings. You can use a manually selected location instead of your current location, and revoke location and notification permissions at any time in your device settings. You can opt out of personalized advertising by adjusting your device advertising settings.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page. You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes.
